Music Interfaces: nearly 6 month anniversary!

Dear Readers,
Wow, I’ve just realised I’ve been writing this blog for almost 6 months now. I hope you’ve found it interesting so far. I’m happy to be learning about and reporting on all the new developments in this area. One thing I’d really welcome is feedback - is there anything I’m missing out on that I should be covering? (For example, I know I’m not so strong on PC-related products and I’d love to publish someone’s experience of Apple’s iTV in relation to listening to music.) Do you think I could be doing anything better than I am currently? Is there a service or product that’s relevant to Music Interfaces that you have experience of? Is there a product that you wish existed but doesn’t exist at the moment? I’d love for you to write a review or post for this site. If you’re interested, please don’t hesitate to get in touch either in the comments or via: colin - the at sign - musicinterfaces - dot - com. Whether you’re interested in contributing or not, thanks for reading!
All the best, Colin.
PS I won’t be able to update Music Interfaces for the next week, but will be back in touch directly after that.

I only discovered Music Interfaces a month or two back, but am enjoying what I’m reading here.
If I were to ask for something extra it might be more of your thoughts and analysis concerning the trends behind these products and services, but it’s fine just as it is…

Thanks Elias and David! Interesting point regarding greater analysis of trends. I guess the focus of this blog is how these services and opportunities stack up from a user point of view. Are they useful, do they supply good recommendations, are they worth the bother and so forth. However, a greater sense of perspective would be useful too, I’ll bear that in mind! I can’t help but suspect that this period of profilerating services will be curtailed by mergers, acquisitions and the success of one major service over its competitors, vis-a-vis the situation with the expansion and subsequent contraction of the search engine market a few years back. If I were forced to make a prediction, I’d bet on Last.fm dominating Mog or Pandora in second place while most of the other services hive off to specific niches or disappear. That’s the current situation anyway. Then again, maybe We7’s offering will skew things in an unforeseen direction…

Congrats on the anniversary. I think I’ve read nearly every post you’ve written. Do keep it up - just do more!

congrats! One little thing, I just noticed you don’t have Foobar listed in your MP3 programs list. Its the only software I’m aware of for PC users to play (and scrobble into Last.fm) flac CD image files with .cue playlists.

Thanks Bernie - now if only I could give up the dayjob I’d be happy to devote myself full-time!
